Step inside our shed and you’ll probably smell the coffee before you hear the hum of the machines. The crib room is always ready for a break — tea, coffee, biscuits, and, if you’re lucky, a slice of cake or two. It’s the perfect spot to swap stories, catch up with a mate, or share a laugh with whoever’s sitting next to you (or across the room).
Out on the workshop floor, the tools are waiting. Big, heavy woodworking machines — a planer, router table, panel saws, thicknesser, belt sander, drop mitre saw — all ready to shape, cut, and smooth. The shelves are lined with smaller but equally handy gear: drills, impact drivers, sanders, drill presses, trim routers, jigsaws… and the list keeps growing. Got a tool you no longer need? It might just find a new home here.
Drawers and tubs overflow with bits and pieces: hinges, brackets, casters, handles, screws, nuts, bolts, nails — more than you could count.
For metalwork, we’ve got grinders, milling machines, welders, with a lathe soon to join the lineup. And we’re not stopping there — sewing machines, leatherworking tools, a table tennis table (with plenty of grunts and groans from the players), and soon more computers for CAD work and 3D printing.
The shed is a place to make things happen. You can help on a community project, lend a hand with odd jobs, or dive into your own creation — with advice and opinions always close by (ask five people and you’ll get ten different answers). One thing’s for sure: you’re never alone here. And yes, that’s partly a safety thing — but mostly because there’s always someone around to share the work, the stories, and the fun.
